Human society in old days does not completely reject foreign incidents, objects and outsiders. At that time, there is a feeling of confusion and inconvenience in society's daily life, but once trying to accept them. After trying to interpret and understand, they respond and restore with composure and equanimity as a deep breath. Then society will maintain balance with nature. ● In the fairy tale such as songs, legends, lessons learned in books and oral literature, the reality of social breath is inherent. It is a transmission from a distant past society trying to restore calm from social strange incidents and the visiting of outsiders suddenly. ● We create the artwork like a deep breath of the society. We collect elements such as motifs, objects and backgrounds in fairy tales and take them in as if we inhale. And then, the artwork is embodied through a process of physically synchronizing them while collage and re-experiencing them by performance ourselves. They intervene in contemporary society as a more abstract works of the fairy tale, and spreads to the many unspecified people. It probably emerges as more primitive transmissions of singing, telling and writing. ● This artwork is one of our previous works, "A construction for the history of fertility" as an important theme of our artistic practice. This is essentially a concept for re-constructing the "richness" of our lives. It is a consideration of sculpture, for the past which we will lose in the future, for the upcoming future. The consideration is for the question that fertility is in the process of breathing in society and that the essence of human society is inherent in the primitive act of transmission this process. ■ Yukawa Nakayasu

人間の社会はいつも、外部から来る異変や異物、異人を頭ごなしに拒否しない。 日常は揺らぎ、違和感や戸惑いや不都合が空間を漂う。 しかし、社会はまずはそれを一度受け入れる。 解釈と理解を試みたのちに対応し、落ち着きを取り戻そうとする。 大きな深呼吸のように。 そうして社会はまた自然と平衡に向かっていく。 ● 書物や口承文芸に刻まれた歌や伝説、教訓などの昔話には、社会の呼吸のリアリティが内在している。 社会的な異変や異人の到来から落ち着きを取り戻そうとした社会のあり様の遠い過去からの伝達である。 ● 私たちもまた社会の深呼吸のように彫刻を作る。 昔話に登場するモチーフやオブジェや背景などの要素を収集し、息を吸いこむように取り込んでいく。そしてそれらをコラージュやパフォーマンスによる追体験をしながら身体的に同調していくプロセスを通して彫刻を形作る。 そうして立ち上がる彫刻は、昔話のより抽象的な存在として現代の社会に介入し、不特定多数に広がっていく。 そこで露わになるものは、歌い、語り、書き記すというもっともプリミティブな伝達そのものだろう。 ● 本作は、私たちの一貫したテーマ「豊饒史の構築」のための一つに位置づけられる。 「豊饒史」とは端的に言うと「豊かさとは何か」を問う独自の概念である。 やがて失われる過去のために、来るべき未来のために、私たちが打ち立てる彫刻という考察である。 その考察とは、社会の呼吸のプロセスの中にこそ、豊饒なるものが潜んでいるのではないか、 そしてそのプロセスを伝達するプリミティブな行為にこそ人間社会の本質が内在しているのではないか という問いに対するものである。 ■ Yukawa Nakayasu
