짙은 녹색 안으로 Into the Dark Green

도둑이 든 여름 ● 무색투명한 경계 밖의 여름은 모든 색을 잃고 흑백이 되어버린 세상이다. 세상의 꽃과 들풀 그리고 숲들의 색은 그 주인도 눈치채지 못한 사이에 자신의 색들을 도둑 맞았고, 오염된 회색 빛의 고층 빌딩만이 그 경계 밖을 에워싸고 있다. ● 멀리서 보이는 희미한 녹색빛을 따라서 도망치듯 들어온 인공 온실과도 같은 경계 안 공간. 통제된 공간 안으로 가까이 다가갈수록 희미하게 몽그라진 원형 형태의 녹색 군락(association)은 미세하게 보이는 빛을 향해 자라나는 식물의 줄기였고. 그 줄기는 주변을 둘러싼 이끼 군락과 함께 생장하는 그물망을 만든다. ● 이 그물망은 하나의 인공적인 자연 환경을 형성한다. 가공된 자연은 바람에 흩날리는 잎새들처럼 서로 뒤섞이고 흩날리며, 도망치듯 들어온 사람들의 눈길과 발길을 멈추게 한다. 더욱 더 짙은 녹색 안으로 무언가에 홀리듯이 들어가는 우리. 얇은 막 하나로 내부와 외부 사이 미묘한 경계가 나뉘는 이 공간에서 우리는 마치 소멸하기 직전인 이 광경을 붙잡고 놓지 않으려는 듯 더 빨리 내달린다. 짙은 녹색 안으로. ● 도둑 맞은 여름의 색은 녹색빛의 군락안에 숨어있다. 이제는 새로운 구원이 되어버릴 녹색빛을 가득 꺼내서 경계 밖에 있는 흑백의 여름에 색의 파동을 해일처럼 밀어 보낸다. 일렁이는 파도와 같은 색은 경계 밖의 여름으로 밀려들어와 은은하게 녹색빛으로 세상을 물들이고, 녹색빛은 시나브로 짙어져 안과 밖의 경계를 허문다. ● 우리는 두려워 하면서도 경계를 허물고, 다른 형태의 종말일지도 모르는 새로운 낙원을 찾아 밖을 향해 천천히 걸어나간다. 절대 어둠이 오지 않을 낙토를 희망하며.

도심 속 포스트 아포칼립스 ● 서정아트에서 진행되는 『짙은 녹색 안으로』 전시는 도심에서 초록빛 식물 군락을 공통적으로 만들어내는 밍예스, 풀림 두 작가의 작업을 탐색하고, 두 작가들이 만들어낸 도심 속 새로운 차원을 관람객에게 선보이기 위해 기획되었다. ● 밍예스(Mingyes) 작가는 대표 작업인 「Association」을 비롯한 다양한 작업을 통해 빛을 향해 성장하는 식물의 균형잡기를 보여준다. 또한, 「Moss Series」를 통해 증식하는 이끼의 크기 및 형태 변화의 모습을 보여주며 주변 환경에 적응하며 끊임없이 성장하는 식물의 모습을 보여준다. 풀림(Pulrim) 작가는 대표작인 「풀바다」 시리즈를 통해 불규칙적으로 흩날리는 식물의 이파리들을 하나의 리듬처럼 묘사하며, 도심 속 가공된 자연의 패턴 이미지를 교차시키고 매 순간 우리가 마주하고 있는 자연의 모습이 과연 자연스러움이 맞는지에 관해 질문을 던진다. ● 자연 그 중에서도 식물의 군락을 촉각과 시각적 패턴으로 각각 표현하고 있는 밍예스, 풀림 작가의 작업은 전시 공간은 현실과 분리된 세상처럼 이질적인 느낌을 준다. 투명한 유리를 경계로 삭막한 폐허처럼 변한 도심과 자연 사이의 중간계를 두 작가의 작품으로 가득 채우고 있다. 두 작가가 그려낸 자연은 실존과 허구를 넘나들며 또 다른 차원을 형성하고, 이는 우리에게 포스트 아포칼립스를 예견하게 한다. ■ 서정아트

Summer Stolen by a Thief ● The summer beyond the colorless boundaries is a world that has lost all its colors and turned monochromatic. The hues of flowers, grass, and forests in the world have been surreptitiously stolen, leaving only the polluted gray tone of the skyscrapers to surround the outside of the boundaries. ● The space within these boundaries, resembling an artificial greenhouse, is a controlled area that one enters as if fleeing along the faint green light visible from a distance. As one approaches this space, the dimly blurred circular clusters of green, which represent the stems of plants—association, or a plan community—growing towards the scarcely visible light, come into view. These stems, along with the surrounding moss clusters, interweave to form a network of growth. ● This network creates an artificial natural environment, where manufactured nature mingles and scatters like leaves in the wind, halting the gaze and footsteps of those who enter as if escaping. We are irresistibly drawn deeper into the green. Within this space, a delicate boundary is divided by a thin membrane between the inside and outside. We are compelled to run faster, as if desperately grasping and refusing to let go of this situation that is on the verge of disappearing... into the dark green. ● The stolen colors of summer lie concealed within the cluster of green. Now, we fully unleash the green light, which will become its new salvation, flooding the black-and-white summer beyond the boundaries with waves of colors like a tidal surge. These undulating hues cascade into the summer outside the boundaries, gently embracing the world with a subtle green radiance, while the green light grows even deeper, attenuating the thread between the interior and exterior. ● In both fear and defiance, we break down the boundaries, slowly walking towards the outside, in search of a new paradise that may represent a different form of paradise, yearning for a sanctuary untouched by darkness.

Post-Apocalypse in the Urban Jungle ● 『Into the Dark Green』 at Seojung Art presents the works of Mingyes and Pulrim, exploring their shared endeavor of cultivating green plant communities within urban settings. This exhibition aims to present viewers with a novel dimension of the urban realm as envisioned by these two artists. ● Mingyes showcases the delicate equilibrium of plants growing towards the light through various works, including her signature piece, 「Association」. Meanwhile, her 「Moss Series」 portrays the metamorphosis in size and form of proliferating moss, unveiling the ceaseless growth and adaptation of plants within their surrounding environment. On the other hand, Pulrim captures the irregularly scattered leaves of plants, composing them into a rhythmic harmony in her 「Grass Sea」 series. In this series, she intertwines images of processed patterns of nature within the urban landscape and questions the authenticity of the nature we encounter. ● Mingyes and Pulrim, each representing plant communities through tactile and visual patterns, infuse the exhibition space with an uncanny atmosphere, reminiscent of a realm detached from reality. The works of these two artists saturate the intermediate space between the urban center and nature, transforming it into an austere ruin that can be visible behind transparent glass. Their depiction of nature transcends reality and fantasy, forging an alternate dimension that hints at a glance of the post-apocalyptic future. ■ SEOJUNG ART
